Richard's 1975 Pontiac TransAm

Features: Pontiac 400 bored .040,
forged pistons, roller tip rockers
200r4 overdrive transmission; 3:23 Posi-trac
Pontiac rear end Pro-touring's GT suspension.
History: I bought the car in Feb 2006 (from a dealership
in MO) and paid an inspection company to look at it)
expecting it to be in driver condition. While the paint
on the car was exceptional, after a day of cleaning
and buffing, the rest of the car was a total mess.

Here is a short list of problems - Front end bushings were gone, literally
- Frame was cracked in the front end
- Front spring was broken
- Wiring under the hood was hacked
- Hoses were missing in the engine bay
- Floor boards had large holes in them
- Rear spring was broken
- Front shocks were probably the originals to the car or close to it
- Rear shocks were air shocks and had seen better days
- Gauges didn't work
- Windshield wiper arms were missing
- Was missing valance and bumper stops

This was my first venture into the car hobby and I wanted to buy a car
so that I could learn to work on cars but still
drive the car on the weekends.
I got more than I bargained for.
A small list of what I've done to the car since then.
Rebuilt motor (Nice street build)
Replaced suspension
Replaced engine harness and other wiring
Replaced floor boards
Replaced TH350 with 200R4 overdrive transmission
Replaced rear end
Fixed a lot of minor things as well

Today it is a weekend driver and I use it for a lot of charity work.
For example, I went to Pigeon Forge, TN for the Appalachian Beach Run
to raise money for triple negative breast cancer.
The fund raiser went from TN to Ocracoke Islance, NC.
Was about a 1700 mile round trip and we raised thousands of dollars.
The family also likes to take cruises in it.
I take the car to a lot of charity shows as well things like
the Virginia Beach Christmas Parade which the car has led
our Trans Am club through the parade on many occasions.
I've driven the car all over the east coast, to Ohio,
and even the Tail of the Dragon in North Carolina.
I'm looking forward to the next restoration steps.
